The Macro Explorer
© 2002 Johnman (with a few small edits by Rogue)

Hi! My name is Johnman. I'm what you would call a macro explorer. I go to different planets in my privately owned spaceship and seek out the macros that live there. Sometimes I just observe them. Other times I actually interact with them. The interesting ones I'll write about.

This is the story of the time I met one of the most famous macros of all. He was by far the cruelest macro I've ever heard of; yet, when I met him in person, he didn't completely live up to the legend. Then again, if he did I probably wouldn't have survived to tell the tale.

It all started when I heard rumors of a macro terrorizing a planet in a star system I was passing though. Since it wouldn't take me that far out of the way, I decided to investigate. It took three hours to reach the planet on thrusters but what I found was worth it.

"Now entering orbit of planet 192283." SAI reported in its programmed female voice.

The Starcruiser Artificial Intelligence, or SAI, was my only companion on my long treks from Earth. It ran most of the ships automated systems, kept a record of my travels, and most importantly it kept me company.

"Thank you, SAI. Scan the planet and see if you can locate our macro." I replied.

For a few moments the sensor control panel lit up with activity. SAI does most of the mundane tasks, like running sensor scans for me, that help speed up the progress. Within a few moments SAI was ready to report its findings

"Johnman, sensors are having a difficult time penetrating a dense electromagnetic field in the planet's atmosphere. This field will also interfere with the effectiveness of the transporter's targeting sensors and the radios."

"I'll keep that in mind while I'm down there, SAI. Have you found the macro yet?"

"Affirmative. The macro is in a city on the planet's northern continent. Although sensor resolution is weak, it does appear that the macro is a male wolf fur."

"Good. Program the transporter to set me down about two blocks from the macro on the tallest available building. I'll be taking down an emergency transporter engager [ETE] with me, so make sure you monitor its boosted signal."

After giving SAI the rest of her instruction, I left the cockpit and headed for my cabin. I grabbed a radio, scanner, pulse pistol, and ETE out of my equipment locker. Once I had changed into some street clothes in order to blend in with the crowds in the city, I went to the transporter pad and climbed onto it.

"Alright, SAI. Do you have the coordinates for the tallest building in the affected area?"

"Yes, Johnman."

"Then initiate transport."

There was a brief tingling sensation, as usual, and then I watched the room on my ship disappear. As my body began to rematerialize, a strong odor overwhelmed my senses. Smoke, blood, and vile remains all assailed my nostrils.

A split second later, the image of a flattened body became visible. Then a street, fire, more bodies, crushed cars, crumbling buildings... Wait. Something was seriously wrong. I wasn't on a rooftop. My sorry ass was in the middle of the rampaged city street!

"SAI? SAI, come in. This is Johnman."

"Jo..m.n this is S.. ...problem with... communications...." The transmitter sounded between jolts of static. Then nothing.

"Damn it!" I yelled while beating on my radio.

After several more failed attempts to call my ship I gave up. A quick check of my ETE showed a green light. That meant that the signal was strong and I could transport up with a touch of a button. With that in mind, I decided to investigate.

With a pulse pistol in one hand and scanner in the other I made my way down the streets of this unknown city. Most of the citizens of this metropolis lay crushed like insects in deep paw-shaped craters. Those who managed to survive this attack were running for their lives. Perhaps I should have done the same.

Then without warning the ground started to shake. I knew my oversized target was nearby, but my handheld scanner was turning out to be just as useless as the ones on the ship. My scanner couldn't tell how close he was, but the ground was shaking harder...

GGGRRRROOOWWWWLLL!!!!

That awful sound made me spin around just in time to see the paw coming my way. Before it hit I activated the ETE and watched the paw disappear. Unfortunately I rematerialized only a few yards from my previous location and a moment later I was using the ETE again to escape.

This pattern of dodging stomps by transporting was repeated at least a half a dozen times. The problem was that the transport only got me a few yards away from my previous position. Alas, seven was not my lucky number. When I hit the ETE button that time it just let off a disappointing beep and the little red light went off. That little red light meant that the signal was too weak and I was fuc...

Before I could finish that thought my body was slammed to the ground. In the blink of an eye the gigantic paw had me pinned down. My body was engulfed, from the head down, by the large mass of warm flesh. Blood and innards from the lethal sole soaked my clothes.

With my eyes slammed shut in primal terror, I awaited the deadly pressure that would end my life; however, after a few moments, I realized that the paw just had me pinned down. No other pressure was being applied.

Somehow I found the courage within to force open my eyes but what I found sent shivers down my spine. I knew I was in a lot of trouble because the paw's owner was Rogue! He was staring right at me with a cruel grin on his face.

"What are you?!" He growled.

I wasn't quite sure what he meant but I replied, "I'm just a human."

"You're no human. You have magic! I saw you disappear!"

That's when I realized what was going on. Rogue had never heard of matter-energy transport since this planet did not have that type of technology. He must have seen my disappearing as magic.

As I was carefully choosing my next words, I began to massage the enormous toe that was lying on my chest. I don't exactly know why I did it, perhaps out of nervousness, but in retrospect that little gesture may have been what saved my life.

"Well you see Rogue, I'm a traveller from space. And I came here to meet you. I'd like to write about you..."

"But you're magic?" He growled. "I saw you disappear."

"Well, you see, that's a transporter..."

"A trains...poot...er?"

"A trans... Oh, never mind. It's magic." I replied, deciding it would be nearly impossible to explain.

A victorious grin came over his face, "Huh! Magic! I knew it. Now what are you doing to my toe?"

That's when I realized I'd been kneading his toe pad during the entire conversation. I immediately stopped and withdrew my hands.

"I didn't tell you to stop!" Rogue growled. "You're going to finish that later, you little pawslut!"

A moment later he lifted his paw off my body and snatched me up in his hand. He opened his hand to allow me to breath and started to walk out of the city. As I rested in his palm, Rogue continued his deadly routine.

The brutal wolf purposely trampled anyone who was even remotely in his path. Those who were close enough for him to easily reach were tossed into his mouth and chewed up as light snacks. Although past experiences with macros had desensitized me to most of this, it was still an unsettling sight. Luckily the journey from the city to his den was not that far.

Rogue's den was little more than a cave in the side of a large mountain. A wide-open field at its entrance was littered with the flattened bodies of those who dared to journey to this forbidden place. A large pile of human and furs' bones lay next to the entrance. It was obvious Rogue didn't care where he disposed of the remains.

Once inside I found his den to be more than just a typical cave. The first thing that caught my eye was a large cage, perhaps from a zoo, in the far corner with at least 30 furs inside of it. A normal-sized desk with a desktop computer was in another corner. A generator, several crates, and a Rogue-sized notebook were in another secluded spot of the cave.

Rogue sat down and began to explain the purpose of his domain's contents. The caged furs were food, but that much was obvious. The desk and computer were used by a fur of his choice to dictate his own creative works, which was usually done in exchange for the fur's life. The generator gave power to the computer and the supplies were to keep his "favorite" furs fed so they could be used to pleasure him.

After explaining his den's contents to me, he had one demand. The megawolf wanted me to finish the paw massage I started to give him. And he made it quite clear it wasn't a request.

Apparently I was the first person to ever attempt to give him a massage and that intrigued him. Also, Rogue was a simple, albeit evil, creature that liked to have things done to him that "felt good." It was well known that Rogue got anything he wanted and at this moment he wanted a paw massage.

Although Rogue was way off in his belief that my transporter was magic, he was right about me being a pawslut; however, under normal circumstances my paw rubs are only given to recipients of the opposite sex. But this was Rogue and it would be the opportunity of a lifetime to get to rub his famous peds. Besides, it wasn't like I had a choice in the matter either.

Luckily, I was able to reestablish a transporter lock with my ship. I did give some thought to an escape attempt, but I didn't want to risk another malfunction like the one in the city. Instead, I used it to beam down the equipment and supplies I was going to need for this daunting task. Within a few minutes I had transported down a pressure washer, several bottles of lotion, and plenty of soap.

I was also able to convince Rogue to release two of his captive furs to assist me in this task. Then I told the megawolf to lie on his stomach. Once out of the cage, the two furs and I went back to the waiting paws.

His large wolf paws were covered from heel to toe in blood, guts, and debris. It took an hour to get all of it off. During the process the evil wolf seemed quite relaxed. Once the washing was done, the ground underneath the deadly feet looked like the floor of a butcher's shop, a reflection of the slaughter that had been imposed on the city just a few hours earlier.

Now that his paws were clean, the two freed furs and I started massaging lotion into them. During this pampering session Rogue let out a few quiet moans of pleasure and his enormous toes curled in delight. As the built-up tension was released from his pads, the oversized wolf seemed to be getting more and more relaxed.

Over the next four hours, the furs and I continued to knead the dark pads of his sole. Then our labors bore fruit: we began to hear snoring. When that greatly anticipated sound began to come from Rogue's murderous mouth we all ran for the cage.

Using my pulse pistol I was able to shoot the lock off, but as the furs began to rush out of it Rogue's head started to move. An unpleasant moan came from his mouth and it sounded like he was waking up. Everyone froze in terror.

Frantically I waved to my two previous assistants. Quickly and quietly they rushed back to Rogue's paws. Then they started to slowly rub their hands up and down the soles in a slow soothing motion. A satisfied smile immediately filled the wolf's face and he began to snore again. With the two furs pleasuring their captor, the newly freed furs made there way out of the den of horrors.

After all of the furs from the cage were safely away from the cave, I checked my ETE. Thankfully, it was still showing green. Quickly I gathered up all of my equipment and transported it back to the ship.

I then signaled the two remaining furs to leave. Before departing, I took one last look at the deadliest set of paws I ever pleasured. Then I hit the button on my ETE and watched them disappear.

A brief moment later I was back on the transporter pad of my ship. After kissing the bulkhead and thankful to have survived the experience, I made my way to the cockpit.

"SAI, is all of our equipment stowed in the cargo bay."

"Affirmative, Johnman."

"Good. Then lay in a course for home and take us to light speed."

"Engaging light engines now." SAI obediently replied.

"Thank you, SAI. I can't wait to get home" I announced, and collapsed into my flight chair.

"Johnman, who was down there?" SAI asked.

"Rogue." I replied, feeling my body to make sure everything was still intact, " and I'm damned lucky to be alive."
